2018 TCKRA Aluminum State Championship Race

The Texas Canoe Racing Association will hold the state aluminum championships on the Colorado River near Bastrop. The 14-mile race will include Championship classes for men, men’s seniors, women and women’s seniors.
DIRECTIONS: The race will begin at the crossing of FM 969 and the Colorado River. To get to the race start, take Hwy 71 East from Austin toward Bastrop. Take a left on HWY 1209 about five miles before entering Bastrop (across from the Valero gas station). Follow 1209 for about 5 miles, arriving at the FM 969 junction. Head North (left) on FM 969 for less than a quarter of a mile. Cross the bridge that spans the Colorado River and turn back toward the river and drive down to the river. The race will begin at the bridge.
BOAT SPECS: Championship Classes: maximum length 17’4”, minimum width 34.5 inches @gunwales; junior and novice: any recreational canoe (aluminum, plastic, wooden, royalex, etc.- no Beaver boats allowed)
