TCKRA USCA State C-1/C-2 Championship and SUP Race
Saturday July 7th, 2018
Brooks Lake on Oyster Creek Bayou, 15900 Southwest Fwy, Sugar Land, TX 77479 (Parking behind the Whole Foods in Sugar Land)
Course: The race course will begin in Brooks Lake on Oyster Creek Bayou. The race will start at the northern most fountain, travel into Oyster Creek, travel to the docks at the Greater Houston Rowing Club, portage over the docks and a small strip of land, and paddle down to the next bridge. Racers will turn a buoy and go back the way they came. Once they are back in Brooks Lake, they will turn around the northern most fountain and all racers will finish at the foot bridge that separates Brooks Lake from Oyster Creek. C2 race will be two laps and C1 races will be 1 lap. The C2 course will be about 9.2 miles. The C1 Course will be about 4.7 miles.
There will also be a SUP race held in conjunction with the USCA races called the Texas Star SUP Race. Board sizes 12’6″ and 14′. The course will be 1 lap (approximately 4.7 miles). Registration for the SUP race is here:https://paddleguru.com/
Race fee: $30.00 per racer for 1st race and $5 for 2nd race. Kids’ race is free.
Racing categories: Open Men and Women, Senior Men and Women (50 years old and older), and Jr Men and Women (<18 years old)

This is a wonderful location to stay for the race. The hotel is very nice and they have a great full breakfast that is complimentary. It is directly on the water where the race will start and end. Once you park your car, you will not have to move it again until you are ready to come home.

*Note – due to the nature of the course we have staggered the starts but there will still be overlap. Boats moving upstream will have right of way to downstream boats.
C2 Mixed will be held in conjunction with an upcoming race (tba)
