Space City Paddlefest

Space City Paddle Fest provides a racing venue for multiple paddle sport disciplines. SUP, Ocean, Marathon, and Novice, four races in one day on three different courses. SUP and Ocean paddlers will race a course from Mud Lake, into, and around the open waters of Clear Lake. Marathon paddlers will race up, then downstream through Mud Lake and Armand bayou. The Novice course will provide a safe, 5k 2-lap Mud Lake course for newer paddlers and newer racers to ease into the action.

Courses and descriptions:
Novice/Short Course – 5K
SUP Recreational (Under 12.6)
Kayak (No K1. Restricted to sea kayaks, rec kayaks, etc.)
SUP Long Course – 10K
Ocean Canoe/Kayak Course – 8 Miles
Marathon Course – 14 Miles
C2 (proboat, cruiser, standard)

Solo Unlimited C-1- Class specific to Texas Water Safari design boats, including all open canoes with one paddler; no length or width restrictions; rudders are legal; single or double blade paddles (no Olympic spec kayaks, surfskis or other decked racing kayaks) Exceptions: recreational design kayaks under 18′ in length ARE permitted in this class.
Tandem Unlimited C-2- same as above, but with two paddlers.
Recreational C-2- all recreational Royalex, aluminum, wooden, plastic, or fiberglass canoes; maximum length 17’ 4”; minimum width at the mid-ship
gunwales 35 inches; only single blade paddles(no beaver aluminum canoes, carbon or Kevlar canoes).
Racing C-2- All USCA Cruisers and Pro boats – maximum length 18’6”, manual bailers; single blade paddles only.
