2020 TCKRA Aluminum State Championship Race

Covid updates: There will be no socializing following the race (no food, no awards ceremony: champion awards will be given as you finish). We are following social-distancing rules: when you cannot be 6′ apart, you must wear a mask (at registration, for example). We will be emailing out the insurance waiver to be signed prior to the race for those who enter online and will have a drop off box for the waivers. Online registration is highly encouraged.

Where: Colorado River starting at the bridge at FM 969, 14 miles to Fisherman’s Park in Bastrop, Texas
Online Registration is HIGHLY preferred!! We will close registration at midnight the night before the race (so Fri, Aug 28). Day of Registration (which we strongly don’t want you to do–less germs online): 8:30 AM
Race start: 9:30 AM
Entry fees: $25/person ($50/team) for all classes except Adult/Child, which will be $25/adult+$5/child ($30/team).
Awards given to the Champions in the following classes:
- Men’s 18-49
- Men’s Masters 50+
- Women’s 18-49
- Women’s Masters 50+
- Mixed 18-49
- Mixed Masters 50+
Enter online here (note that the entry fees for the Adult/Child race differ from the other classes):
Boat Specs: Maximum length 17’4”, minimum width 34.5” @ gunwales. Any recreational canoe (Aluminum, plastic, wooden, royalex, etc.), no beaver boats allowed
Directions: The race will begin at the crossing of FM 969 and the Colorado River. To get to the race start, take Hwy 71 East from Austin toward Bastrop. Take a left on HWY 1209 about five miles before entering Bastrop (across from the Valero gas station). Follow 1209 for about 5 miles, arriving at the FM 969 junction. Head North (left) on FM 969 for less than a quarter of a mile. Cross the bridge that spans the Colorado River and turn back toward the river and drive down to the river. The race will begin at the bridge.
